Blues North Plate Quarter Final

Brecon youth 58pts - Abercynon 7pts

Brecon youth progress into the semi final of the plate with a outstanding display of attacking rugby

After many weeks of game cancellations due to adverse weather it was good to be back in action. Any concerns the coaches may of had about the long lay off causing rustiness were quickly put to one side with Brecon's winger Morgan Vaughan scoring a hat trick of tries within the first 15 minutes of the game. It was a perfect start for the hosts and it was more of the same throughout the encounter with Brecon scoring ten tries to Abercynons one, much to the delight of the large partisan crowd

With many players unavailable it was particularly satisfying to see so many of the team contributing to a excellent win and confirming to the coaches Brecon youth have good strenght and depth within their squad.

The pack must take a huge part of the credit. Their hard work at the break down and the set piece giving the Brecon backs good, go-forward ball which they utilised to good effect through out the game. The pick of the forwards was Brecon's wing forward Mathew Williams

The comprehensive win gives Brecon youth another excellent opportunity of another cup final and possible silverware, but all realise there are some good sides remaining in the competition and Brecon will not be taking anything for granted.
