Postponement of Clubhouse Development Meeting

Following a Board Meeting held on Wednesday 6th January it has been decided to Postpone both the proposed Information meeting and EGM outlined to be held on Tuesday 22nd January and Wednesday 12th February respectively. The rationale behind the decision is that radical changes to the proposed development are being considered. These changes are related to ongoing negotiations of funding sources and partnerships. There is also consideration of the possible retention of the core of the present Clubhouse premises. In view of these major amendments, which have yet to be consolidated, it was felt appropriate to delay the consultation with the membership.

As soon as these issues have been resolved we will reschedule both the information meeting and EGM. I will keep you fully informed.

Consultation Meeting Tuesday 22nd January 7:30pm

During the Board Meeting we were made aware of a number of complaints related to the management and running of the Club. All members have the perfect right to voice their opinions but there is an appropriate time and place for this to take place. When comments are made in front of and/or directed towards staff then this is inappropriate. The Board strongly feels that the best way to deal with issues that are creating this negativity is to receive and respond to complaints directly. With this in mind the Board is prepared to hold an open meeting on Tuesday where matters which are causing concern can be discussed openly and hopefully addressed in an appropriate manner.

Bar Price Increase

As a result of Brewery Price Increases it has reluctantly been decided that as from Friday 1st February Beer and Lager prices will be increased by 5p per pint. In addition there will be a proportionate increase in the prices of Spirits, Wines etc.

WRU National Plate

A huge thank you to everyone who was able to travel down the A470 to Rhiwbina in support of our 1st team. Your support was much appreciated. Rhiwbina were a good team but for the second time within the first two weeks of the New Year we defeated one of the top sides in Division 1 East Central. Little things make a difference and, who knows, the level of Brecon support, which was at least equal to that of the home side, could have been decisive. It was the team, coaches and management, however, who deserve the bulk of the praise. The start of the year has been hugely successful and we stand proud at the top of Division 1 East and with a place in the Quarter Final of the Plate. We have been drawn against familiar opposition, Nelson, for that last 8 match which will be played on 2nd March. Unfortunately and for the fourth time in five matches, we were drawn away. However, if we can reproduce or even better the level of support that accompanied the team to Rhiwbina then we can perhaps again return home with a win and continue our progress into uncharted territory with a big prize at the end of our journey.

Book the date in your diary and let's help the boys make it happen!
